It is already one of the best distributions, with support for many modern systems as well as older machines, and is one of the first distributions to be compiled with speed-increasing optimizations for modern cpus.
Fedora is a great first distro, continuing the tradition of ease of use found in Redhat Linux. The installer is one of the easiest to use that I have seen in any linux distro and is arguably easier than installing Windows. Both 64 bit and 32 bit versions are available, please specify which you would like when you contact me.
