Whether you use an old 386 or NASA's supercomputers linux is the perfect choice of operating system.
This set contains the 9GB of data that makes up the 3.1 full release and gives you more freedom and power to choose than any other distribution. You can build a usable work console on a 300MB disk or install all 10.4 GIGABYTES (probably much more now, I haven't tried this for some time) of packages on your fancy new machine.
The installer is easy to use, supporting installation alongside an existing windows system with minimal extra work and allowing you to use and install to a plethora of hardware, such as pci scsi cards and even smp systems (initial install uses first processor, you can configure the rest later). The open source licenses allow you to install this wonderful os on all your computers LEGALLY.
This auction is for the FOURTEEN CD / 2 DVD SET that makes up Debian 3.1r2 and is intended for x86 architecture machines. (Intel Pentium processors and compatable chips). This is the most recent stable version of debian, released on April 19 2006.
I also sometimes have the weekly builds of Debian "Etch" (testing) available. If you are interested please ask. At some other times I can download the latest week's release for you.
My price for the 14cd debian set is an amazing $22.00, and I can supply the 2 DVD set for just $5.50. The same software on two printed dvds in jewel cases will cost $7.00 and I will do the cd set with printed discs in jewel cases for $33.00. It will cost only $0.90 to post within New Zealand.
